Graduate Programs
成人每日大赛s in our聽doctoral degree program are supported with teaching fellowships that include stipends and complete tuition remission. The limited size of the program contributes to a tight-knit group of students who interact closely with our faculty.
The Department of Mathematics is engaged in an ongoing effort to assess our programs. We have organized this effort around several learning goals. We measure student outcomes in these areas annually, and we use that information to improve the structure and content of our major, and of our doctoral program.
The learning outcomes to be attained for graduate students are:聽
- 成人每日大赛s will have broad knowledge of the major areas of modern mathematics (algebra, analysis, and geometry) and detailed command of advanced topics in at least one of these areas.
- 成人每日大赛s will be able to do original research in their area of study.
- 成人每日大赛s will teach effectively courses in mathematics at the college level.

The department's Ph.D. program began in 2010 and now supports more than 30 graduate students, attracting doctoral candidates from top programs both nationally and internationally.聽The department offers a selective and focused program for talented students specializing in three broad research areas: Geometry/Topology, Number Theory/Representation Theory, and Algebraic Geometry.
